folks place where I was overjoyed to discover that they had recently had Foxtel installed. Well...there's no looking back now. I stayed up till 3am on Sat night and on Sunday morning amused myself with E entertainment for most of the day. There was a bio on Johnny Depp, a 2 hours red carpet special on the BAFTA awards and so much more... which resulted in me in my pyjamas until 3pm on Sunday. I remembered that the last time we had Foxtel, I was doing my VCE and my brother and I became so addicted, that mum and dad ceased it's existence. I felt like someone had died that day. But hallelujah.....it's come back from the dead. Dad actually tried to have a conversation with me at some point and I just clutched the remote control and nodded without eye contact. I overheard him whisper to mum "this could be a problem like it was last time". I found myself flicking through the guide and squealing with delight at the variety and promise of 24 hour entertainment. MY life as I know it is over and I am reborn! Remember everyone, there is hope after a flood...oh yes....foxtel is the new live aid!

When it Rains it Pours
I'm busy at the moment, as my horoscopes predicted. I religiously read all of my horoscopes on the weekend in the vain hope that one of the magazines might foretell good news. But last week they were surprisingly accurate with the fact that there was no fun to be had and it was all work no play. Though, out of the blue, I was contacted by my american friend who was in Melbourne who I had not seen in 4 years! It was certainly a mixed crowd at drinks on Friday night where we converged on Transport Bar. There was my normal posse, the american friend with her lesbian lover and sister, my family friend Carre and his ex-girlfriend Anna who I love (who has just moved to Melb) and then there was my friend Al and his 18 year old dutch backpacker whom he met in Sydney as well as her little friend. I love social experiments. Though the dutch one did nothing to further endear me to her as she chain-smoked, giggled and jiggled and conclusively threw a tantrum when her gracious host/lover failed to source her some cigarettes when she ran out. Dear god. What is it about men in their 30's and their obsession with younger women. My plans to flee Melbourne the next day in search for a much needed girls day in Torquay with my Ellie who I had not seen in over 3 weeks, was thwarted. Aside from my throbbing self-inflicted headache (courtesy of champagne) and feeling guilty for not being sympathetic enough to a heartache ....the heavens decided to open. And so did the ceilings in our bedrooms. As we darted to evacuate our bedrooms of all our possessions, amidst leaking skylights, lights and cracked ceilings. Then I remembered, that I lost my key to my parents house a week ago which coincidentally occured after a black cat had scrambled past me on the way to work in the morning. My housemate reminded me that the last time I went through my satannic streak of bad luck (2005 - the darkness age), I had a black cat cross my path. So I wonder what else I have to look forward to!?!? I quickly retreated to my
