Sliding Doors & Brit Bits

It's an amusing thing when you are faced with choices and you endeavour to select a better and more positive path for yourself. After a frustrating few days dealing with the charming englishman who has proven to more of a SNAKE CHARMER, I met another of his fellow countrymen at a bar on Sat night. This one, a different breed from the effusive and demonstrative slickness of mr big. In comparison, he was dark with a londoners accent, polite & inquisitive and subtle. I received an sms the next day with his desire to catch up during the week. Nice. Although the other one started off being nice too. Though I'm trying to dissuade my more cynical thought patterns from him possessing 2 wives. So after open ended, cryptic and basic emails from Mr Big yesterday morning....which I stewed over for most of the day, I resigned myself to ending the torture and spine tingling passion (or at least deferring it until he drops his girlfriend). I texted him with the "just be mates under the circumstances" spiel...and the bastard chose to leave me hanging for several hours and then a simple "we can be mates X" sms came through at 11pm. I found this very hard to be convinced by...but thought it was a semi happy ending that clearly was not ended. Nevermind. Between texts to him I had a text from the other englishman asking about catching up on Thursday night. I assumed this was fate swaying me in a more positive direction....yes! Out with the bad...in with the good. Then the evil one emails me today asking me if I'd like to come over one night this week! WHAT PART OF FRIEND SEEMS UNCLEAR?? Men and their wiley ways. I've never been a game player but find myself inadvertedly lured into this deranged version of monopoly. I really want Park Place but keep getting sent to jail!! This also leads me to the conclusion that all our more personal communication is now dependent on texting or emails. And I am also one of the greater perpetrators and do nothing to counteract this trend. Remember when you got the thrill of someone calling you for the first time to ask you out? Or you had to call someone to get something off your chest? Well now...you just hear a beep and there is a sentence to sum up someones thoughts. And you are left wondering....and deciphering true meanings. It's like an era of laziness. Sad but true...I think chivalry truly is dead.
