Gymnastics of the Lycra Kind

So I've never been a huge fan of sport. When the Commonwealth Games, Tennis, Olympics are on....I find myself scrambling for the video card and promptly carting myself off to get some DVDs. And when there was sports days at school, when my name was called there was a strange silence...as I was probably on St Kilda Beach after ducking and weaving through the streets of Kew and landing on the nearest tram. Last night was a strange phenomenon as Melbourne is hosting the World Gymnastics Championships and whilst it screened last night I bemoaned the status of free to air television and particularly Thursday nights which I have tagged "Blood TV Night" (as you can't flick onto a channel without seeing an operating table and someones kidneys being extracted, which is promptly followed by a high pitched squeal and shielding of the eyes).
So there in all their international glory, where these lythe lycra clad males grabbing poles and twisting their taut frames in mid air.... and I was suddenly transfixed. It was like a gleaming trans-continental buffet. My favourite was Luis from Brazil. I actually heard on the news that you can host some of the athletes from the commonwealth games if you have a spare room. Does a spare bed space count??? Luis, if you're coming back for the Commonwealth Games...I'd like to show you the fabulous linen I bought from Ikea that I think you would be very comfortable in!!! I would even wash and hang your lycra jumpsuit out on our washing line every day!!!
